Pocket sprung mattresses contain high numbers of springs that all work independently rather than being joined together as they are in open coil sprung mattresses. Each spring is encased in it's own fabric pocket to prevent it from interlocking with it's neighbouring springs, and to prevent spring noise.
Due to the way that pocket springs work independently they will contour to your body providing support where it is needed. This means that for back support you don't have to go for a firm mattress, but instead you can go for a pocket sprung mattress in whatever firmness rating suits you.

With recent developments in mattress technology a combination of pocket springs with memory foam is now regarded as the very best type of mattress for back support.

The Madrid Mattress is 11" deep. It is made up from a medium to firm 6" 1000 pocket sprung (in a 5' king size mattress) layer. This then has 2" layers of visco elastic memory foam both top and bottom for ultimate support.

The Memory Pocket mattress contains 70mm of V55 viscoelastic memory foam on top of a 1000 pocket spring system (in a king size mattress), which is covered in a special breathable four way stretch fabric to give the support and comfort that can only be experience with a pocket sprung and memory foam combination.

The Lovell Coolmax Mattress is 1000 pocket sprung (in a king size mattress), then topped with 2" of V60 visco elastic memory foam. The memory foam layer moulds to your body without causing pressure points for better circulation and luxurious comfort. The Lovell is 9" deep, and is a non turn mattress. The Lovell is slightly firmer than medium. It is then covered on the sleeping surface with Coolmax fabric.
